
Another Free Fishing Derby in the Berkshires is Happening This Weekend
The summer weather in Berkshire County has been pretty nice lately, which is allowing folks to get out and partake in their favorite warm-weather activities. If you are a fishing enthusiast or are new to the sport but want to get more experience, then you'll want to mark August 8 on your calendar.
Coming up this Saturday, the Berkshire National Fish Hatchery is having an open house and big fishing derby event at 240 Hatchery Road in New Marlborough, and you and the entire family are invited.

What Will Be Included in Saturday's Open House and Fishing Derby Event?
Where to start? First of all, the event is free and open to the public. The fishing derby will kick the day off from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and is for kids ages 13 and under, and get this: every kid gets a free derby T-shirt. There will be an Open House where you can explore the hatchery and meet the staff. Other activities include a gun shooting range and archery games.
Will Food Be Available at This Weekend's Open House/Derby Event?
Yes, you'll have plenty of food and treats to choose from, including hot dogs, chips, watermelon, ice cream, and water.
