Hotel Downstreet In Downtown North Adams Is Up For Sale, But Will Remain Open
If you've lived in Northern Berkshire County long enough, as I have, there's always been a hotel on the corner of Main Street as you come into downtown North Adams. Growing up, I always remembered it as Holiday Inn, while others may have remembered it as the North Adams Inn and a Sheraton.
Either way, this place will always hold a place in my heart, considering this is where I lived for a month after a house fire in 2020, just before the pandemic. And the fact that it even has a swimming pool and hot tub in the basement, which I loved the most. The property is up for sale, but it is not going anywhere. Here are the details.

Hotel Downstreet Listed For Sale On JLL Investor Group
While the property is up for sale, the hotel will be business as usual, according to the hotel's general manager. The Berkshire Eagle reports on June 3 that Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, a global real estate firm based in Boston, listed the 90-room hotel and the entire property for sale. The hotel is part of the Ascend Hotel Collection, which is a worldwide network of over 400 independent historic and boutique hotels operated by Choice Hotels.
While no listing price was officially provided, we do know the building was built in 1974 and recently renovated in 2022. The listing itself states “The offering represents a rare opportunity to acquire a fully-renovated, cash-flowing asset with a premier Main Street location and a flexible franchise affiliation.” The hotel, located on Main Street in downtown, is owned by Peregrine Group, a real estate advisory and property management firm based in Rhode Island, and Main Street Hospitality Group, which manages the Porches and Red Lion Inn.
