A weekend porch fire in the town of Adams could have been much worse if not for the quick works of Northern Berkshire firefighters in a mutual aid effort.

The Lenox Fire Department was called to the scene of a reported chimney fire at a Golden Hill Road address shortly before 11:00 AM on Wednesday.
