Massachusetts is full of quaint and rather historic towns, some of which they call the Bay State’s “best-kept secrets,” according to PureWow. It's no surprise that some of these towns are considered the "most underrated."

The current lighthouse in the harbor of Provincetown is known as Monomoy Point Light or Monomoy Point Lighthouse. It is made of Cast Iron being built in 1849 replacing an old wooden tower and brick lantern room that once stood on top of the keeper's house. Unfortunately, the light itself was taken out of commission in 1923 for unknown reasons.

Massachusetts has plenty of unique towns throughout the entire state. Not just that, but really some of the most unique towns throughout the entire New England region. Some of those towns have some of the more quirky and/or one-of-a-kind attractions that you won't find anywhere else. Thanks to this fact, it seems that more specifically, two of the most eccentric towns throughout all of New England are right here in Massachusetts.

We all know that Massachusetts has an incredibly rich history. It may also be pretty common knowledge that the oldest city in the Bay State is Plymouth. However, over on the western side of the state, it's not nearly as much of a known face just how old some of these towns in the Berkshires are.

Massachusetts is home to some very unique towns. They seem to have capitalized on a certain niche for stylized town names here in the Bay State. While most of them have some sort of rich history behind them, there are some that you will hear and then think to yourself, "That town definitely sounds like it could only be in Massachusetts." But some towns just sound so fake, as if they were something created by A.I.
