Here is a great idea for a day trip if you have this Friday off. A twin bill of family friendly fun events awaits you in the town of Sheffield. Your first stop is a free market, or as they call it a "free for all" as you can get ready to par take in a swap session between 1 and 2 pm where you can bring items you want to get rid of (including crafts, fabric, household goods, yarn or anything else) and trade with others in attendance.

You can bring stuff, take stuff or both at The Sheffield Senior Center located at 25 Cook Road and best of all, everything is FREE. You will not be able to exchange clothing, shoes or stuffed animals during this event but all other items are fair game and you don't even have to bring anything, you can just come in and find any items that interest you. To sign-up, call (413) 229-7037. For more information on this event, log on here

Afterwards, an opening reception will be held at the Old Stone Store located at 137 Main Street on Friday from 6 to 8 pm featuring Berkshire and fair trade items. Keep in mind, the holiday market will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm until December 22nd as this will be a terrific stop to complete that holidy shopping and support local business at the same time.
